I bought this based on the reviews and Artemis is THE best AVN I’ve ever played! When I finally hit chapter 6 I had the same feeling that I get when a book I’m really diggin is almost over. ‘Course, this isn’t the end.. but same feeling. It’s intelligent and funny and damn sexy, and I can not WAIT for more! Thank you for making this!!!
Hey, I just bought the game on steam and I already like it ! But it's only the 0.4.2 version on Steam. Any clues about when will it be updated to the last version (or will it be...) ?
Thanks !
P.S. Tried to refund it on Steam and buy it directly from here, but my card is declined. Any way to still make it updated on steam ?
FINALLY for the first time ive found a story with an attractive MC. ive played sooo many novels where the mc is goofy looking but you have done a great job designing these characters and none of them look under 18 & childish. THANK YOU
update: ive been playing for 2 days and so far i reaaally like the story. but about the characters - the only character i dont like is june because of her anime chucky hair. the style and color makes her look 45 so im confused on what her age is supposed to be. there was a flashback scene of her in blonde hair and she looked faaantastic and actually attractive but also much younger but apparently its only 5 years ago. katy paige and zelda look like college students but the rest of the women im not sure how old they are so it throws me off. reina and kindra are the most attractive. reina is my favorite. her eyes makeup and hair are perfectly made. i know you can be in college at any age but i thought they were all in their 20s, just doesnt look like it.
the writing is great though i wish this was a tv show :)
i like the hunt for the sd cards, although i often forget to even look for them so i dont have many. i dont know how to unlock the dataleaks though.
Most AVN's use a very similar file structure to this. You want to run the application file, not the python file. In Windows finder it's the _ARTEMIS with filetype application (.exe).
Oh I see. I got the full version of the game after I made that comment, I see what you mean now. It looks like 0.6.1b doesn't support linux so your best bet is probably to use wine or switch to a different OS. You could also maybe try to manually make it compatible (or ask the creator and if enough ask...) but I have no idea what that would involve and there's probably a reason linux isn't supported
Given the problem I'm having, I can see how you'd think that. However the main reason to include the .py file is to run it on linux... just not the way it's set up on MY linux.
Also the previous release up to version 5 had an .sh file, so I think the dev either deleted it or failed to click the checkbox to include it when the software was building the game for release.
I'm pretty sure all he has to do to fix this is to re-build it and either reupload it whole or reupload the missing parts, which should just be some .sh files: One in the base folder and another folder with them with each one being for a different type of system.
Here's a picture of the 5.x release for reference.
Interesting, yeah hopefully he updates it. For the .0.1.2 version the lib directory seems to contain linux-specific files that are not in 0.6, so I think it would require a re-upload from the creator. Wine really should work though. Runs basically any windows executable on linux, sudo wine ARTEMIS.exe
I almost sat on this game after playing the demo. Luckily I'm finally not hurting for cash or I would have put this one off and missed out on an AMAZING story line. Insanely detailed, great characters, perfect plot. With the demo, I saw it had potential but so many potential plotlines can end up disappointing. If the demo had go all the way through chapter 2 there is no way I would have considered sitting on this one. The demo is ok and only a tiny fraction of what this VN is, pay the money, it will blow you away.
I have never been so emotionally invested in the characters and their development as in this game - thanks so much to the dev! Even managed to give me new perspective on some parallels to my own life...what more can you ask for?
Visual quality is simply amazing, expressions, faces, models - you can plainly see how much work has gone into creating such an immersive experience.
I can not express how much positive emotion the whole bringing Artemis into the world story arc evoked in me - but hey, go try it out for yourself!
This is by far one of my favorite VN's. I don't care what ANY hater says, there was so much put into this that's just amazing! The creative storytelling, the thoughtful insight into the advent of AI, the ethical conversations, all of it just makes me happy! I have been working on my own AI (not going so well T.T ), and this VN has not only given me insight, but ideas to implement for the direction I want to go with it.
Thank you for being so f*cking awesome, digi_b!
To all those having issues downloading: I use OperaGX browser, and have no problems with any downloads or download times. The download throttling of other browsers is non-existent with OperaGX (Literally designed for gamers and programmers. It's pretty awesome!).
Don't listen to the one angry stick up the ass basement dweller ranting in the comments.
This story is absolutely badass. The comedy, emotion, serious, and action are all properly tuned to their respective needs throughout it.
It's rare you get a solid mix of everything working beautifully together. Story is cohesive and (as I have seen) doesn't contain any holes or inconsistencies. Dialogue is smooth and naturally flowing throughout all characters and events. Timetable and flow of passing situations and events are all properly handled. You don't feel at many (if any) points that things are going too slow/fast or not making sense.
All involved characters, even side characters have a solid investment to the world building and main casts progression. The cast of Li's so far in these 6 chapters have been handled perfectly. From lesser to mains, each one has an appropriate level of building, backstory, development with the MC and attachment to the story. I have yet to see a single character where I wondered why they were there, or had to wonder "who" they were for any kind of relevancy.
MC is quite expertly handled with a solid mix of personality and trauma. Neither one overshadows the other or causes those jarring moments where you would want something handled in a different manner. His traumas naturally affect the story in appropriate places while still allowing for signs of growth and connection, whereas his personality never feels too overbearing in the "super nice/smart/badass" tropes main characters tend to fall into.
Even the antagonists are pretty finely tuned. You get a solid justification in their existence, reasoning for being the "bad guy" that makes sense, and sufficient reason for you yourself to dislike them, but are still given a real sense of humanity in the *why* of their position.
There is also a good amount of realization in the need for additional playthroughs as choices have a solid logic behind affecting future interactions and situations. You'll begin to realize mistakes made, things to say or do differently for one character in how it affects another and so on. Most of all so far, IT MAKES SENSE when those situations do come up.
Overall, excellent game and well worth playing through/following.

Extremely well written. Engaging story with good humor elements, dialog feels natural and the character development doesn't feel rushed. 10/10.
love this game hope the next update don't take as long

Ok so I managed to download the game, but it won't run.
the python file just throws errors and says to use the .sh file, but there's no .sh file! :-(
come on dev, can you fix this?

I'm on Linux. I'm supposed to be running the .sh file!
Every other game I have from here, which supports Linux, has both a .py file and an .sh file; this one only has the .py file, which doesn't work!

Far and above any other AVN I have played so far.

Totally worth the wait. And now I can't wait for the next update. Donated some more cash.
